PURPOSE:To transfer a visible image on a photosensitive body to a transfer material, and eliminate the need for maintenance operation and improve transfer efficiency by bringing a conductive brush into contact with the transfer material which contacts the photosensitive body, and impressing a specific voltage to the conductive brush. CONSTITUTION:The conductive brush 2 is applied with a DC voltage of + or -200- + or -2,000V from a DC power source 3. The conductive brush 2 is a roller type conductive brush formed by implanting numbers of conductive contactors 5 in the peripheral surface of a cylindrical core 4 made of a conductor, and contactors 5 contact the surface of the photosensitive body 1 gently and also rotate at a peripheral speed 1-5 times as fast as that of the photosensitive body 1. Contactors 5 contact the rear surface of the transfer material 6 gently to charge the rear surface of the transfer material 5 uniformly, so the visible image on the photosensitive body 1 is transferred to the surface of the transfer material 6. Consequently, discharging need not be performed, so the generation of visible image ozone due to electrostatic attractive force, and damage and deterioration of the photosensitive body and a discharge wire are eliminated, and the need for maintenance operation is eliminated. |
