PURPOSE:To facilitate the detection of abnormal load of an electric wire by providing a support arm which is adapted to break when an abnormal load is applied between an overhead wire and a steel tower and the new one prepared for the breakage thereof while the breakage of the support is detected. CONSTITUTION:An insulator 2 of an overhead wire mounted on a mounting part 5 for an overhead wire and then, on a steel tower 1 through support arms 6, 7 and 8. Both ends of respective support arms 6-8 are linked with pins while the support arm 7 is so formed as to break when an abnormal load is applied to the wire and an optical fiber 9 is mounted. In addition, the support arm 8 is bend in half and fastened with a pin and set to be bent before the application of the abnormal load. When an abnormal load works on the wire, the support arm 7 breaks and the mounting part 5 comes down while the support arm 8 extends to support the wire together with the support arms 6 and 8. With the breakage of the support arm 7, the optical fiber 9 is broken, the condition which is detected with a detector 10. Thus, the arrangement of the breakable support arms, the bent support arm and the optical fiber can simplify the detection of abnormal load on the wire. |
