Full-image flash-illumination system and full-image imaging system having an illumination housing and an illumination mechanism for compensating unwanted charge changes on a photoconductive, strip-shaped recording material, which charge changes are caused by reflections of the lens from the copy support plate. The region of the strip on which the negative lens image is formed is predetermined, and a controlled amount of light is guided to this region either before, after or during the exposure in order to reduce the charge level of the region to the measure which is required for a compensation of the negative lens image. According to a first idea of the invention, the discharge illumination is produced independently of an illumination source, such as for example a light-emitting diode arrangement. According to a second idea of the invention, the discharge illumination is derived from the illumination housing and projected, by means of an optical component arranged in the base of the illumination housing onto the lens-image region.
