The invention relates to a hunting rifle having a hair-trigger (23), a cartridge magazine (11) and a short breech by means of a telescopic guide (2). The trigger (23) is equipped with an adjustable trigger movement, as a rear-set trigger, for direct firing. The magazine (11), which can be inserted in a replaceable manner from underneath through the stock (1) into the guide rail (9), is located directly in front of the trigger (23). The magazine holder (17), which is connected to a firing slide (15), is located on one side surface of the magazine. The hunting rifle according to the invention combines the short breech by means of a telescopic guide (2), which is known per se, with a replaceable magazine (11) and an adjustable trigger movement of a trigger (23) which is constructed as a rear-set trigger. <IMAGE>
