PURPOSE:To obtain a constant sharp image by setting the contact pressure between a carrier and a control member within a secific range. CONSTITUTION:The carrier 5 is provided under a hopper 2, the control member 3 contacts the carrier 5, and the contact pressure of the control member 3 to the carrier 5 is adjusted by a holder 4. The toner 1 in the hopper 2 is sent from the carrier 5 to the control member 3 by gravitation, a thin toner layer with specific thickness is formed by the control member 3, and the layer is charged electrostatically by the friction between the control member 3 and carrier 5. The toner layer is scattered toward an electrostatic latent image with the electric field between the electrotstatic latent image on a holder 6 and the carrier 5 to stick on the electrostatic latent image, which is developed into a visible image. For the purpose, the contact pressure between the control member 3 and carrier 5 is set to about 20 - about 300g/cm to obtain a sharp copy image. |
