The invention relates to a frequency-voltage converter, in particular as a high-accuracy tachometer, in which a ramp-shaped signal with constant slope is generated from a period-determining clock signal with a variable, adjustable pulse-duty factor, which signal is fed to a peak memory with a discharge monitoring circuit and a low-pass filter. In this arrangement, a signal enveloping the maxima of the ramp-shaped signal is generated and fed to a subtracting operational amplifier. A voltage signal directly proportional to the frequency or speed is available at the output of the said amplifier.
