PURPOSE:To prevent the mixture of a black developer during color development by arranging a color developing means at an upper part and a black developing means at a lower part. CONSTITUTION:A developing device 10 is divided into two, i.e. the 1st developing unit 52 as the color developing means including a developing roller 50 and the 2nd developing unit 53 as the black developing means including a developing roller 51; and the 2nd developing unit 53 is fixed to a copying machine frame 1 and the 1st developing unit 52 is drawn out upward. A black developer which is used frequently is used by the 2nd developing unit 53 and a color developer is used by the 1st developing unit 52. A reversible motor 87 as a common driving source rotates forward or backward to operate only either of the developing units 52 and 53 selectively. Consequently, the mixture of the black developer during the color development is prevented as much as possible to obtain a sharp image. |
