PURPOSE:To increase the amount of transmitted information by obtaining the level at a position where vertical blanking is detected and vertical synchronizing pulses as a code pattern and forming the 1st and the 2nd code patterns, combining the 1st and the 2nd code patterns together and specifying a superposition point, and generating a signal to be superposed with the 3rd code pattern. CONSTITUTION:An information bit pattern generator 606 outputs six kinds of bit pattern 7001-7006, and a vertical blanking counter 8 output four kinds of bit patterns 7007-7010. Then, combinations of those ten kinds of bit patterns are determined by a combination means 608. A pattern code combination control means 605 sends out a predetermined combination control signal to decide combinations. The bit pattern code signal which is determined eventually is applied to a superposing means 601 and superposed as an information signal on a vertical synchronizing pulse part in a vertical blanking period and the output is sent out to a transmission line through a signal line 6026.
