In the case of a suppression capacitor for connection to a rectifier circuit of an alternator, the capacitor connections having connecting lugs (6, 8) which are located at a distance from one another and are provided with perforations (10, 12) through which an attachment part can pass, the perforation (12) of one of the connecting lugs (8) having an insulating element (14) passing through it, which insulating element (14) insulates the attachment part from said connecting lug, for the purpose of creating a construction in which the interference caused by the rectification elements is suppressed as close as possible to point of origin and which enables mounting on the alternator with as few additional parts as possible, it is provided that the insulating element (14) is limited to the region of the connecting lug (8) which it passes through. <IMAGE>
