PURPOSE:To obtain nip width suitable for the distance between a control blade and a sleeve, and to prevent clogging, defects in cleaning and an overflow of toner completely by setting the surface roughness of the sleeve below a specific value. CONSTITUTION:Single-component toner 6 remaining on an electrostatic latent image carrier 5 is neutralized by an electrostatic charger which is not shown in a figure after a transfer process and cleaned with a magnetic brush cleaner body 7. The surface roughness of the sleeve 1 of a magnetic brush cleaner 7 is set to <=5mum. Consequently, the control blade part 3 is never clogged with toner, sufficiently proper nip width is obtained, and stable cleaning performance is maintained for a long period. |
