With a gas shut-off fitting, it is necessary to insulate the inner part, the connection pipe and the outer shell electrically from one another. These parts must furthermore be connected together firmly to ensure that the gas shut-off fitting can withstand mechanical loads in the case of pipes laid in the ground. For this purpose, the parts in the new gas shut-off fitting are shrink-fitted together and the connection pipe and the outer shell are furthermore of conical design in the region of the insulation. This makes it possible for both axial and radial forces to be accepted, the risk of the insulating material being sheared off being avoided due to the conical design.
