A planetary gear (18, 20) moves a traversing transmitter (22) reciprocally with a non-uniform linear movement. The pivot point of an angle lever (25) is articulated on the traversing transmitter (22). The free end of the angle lever (25) has an operative connection to the yarn guide (37). The other end of the angle lever (25) is provided with a sliding block (30) which engages into a control link which is mounted fixedly relative to the frame and has a sinusoidal curvature and which is worked into a plate (33). As a result, rocking movements compensating the non-uniform linear movement of the traversing transmitter (22) are imparted to the angle lever (25), so that the yarn guide (37) also executes a linear movement made essentially uniform. <IMAGE>
