PURPOSE:To attain automatically a series of burning eliminating jobs restoring an electron beam of an image pickup tube by providing a white light irradiating device in a camera, cutting off automatically the electron beam of the image pickup tube through the switching operation when the burning takes place, irradiating a prescribed luminous amount of white light on the said image pickup tube for a prescribed time and then cutting off the white light. CONSTITUTION:In turning on a burning eliminating switch 7, a control section 5 acts on an image pickup tube beam switching device 4 to turn off an electron beam of the image pickup tube 1 and acts on a white light irradiating device 2' to irradiate the white light on the image pickup tube 1 for a prescribed time, and after the burning is removed, the irradiation is stopped and then the beam switching device 4 is actuated again and the beam of the image pickup tube 1 is restored into the on-state.
