Programmable switching network

The programmable switching network serves to generate pre-defined strings of binary signals. In a memory, in particular a read-only memory, data words assigned to the instantaneous values of the binary signals are stored which are read out from the memory in temporal succession depending on address words present at address inputs of the memory. At least one control character is assigned to each data word which is read out simultaneously with the data word. If the control characters have a first binary value, the addresses are scrolled step-by-step. If the control characters assume a second binary value, the address is set to a pre-defined value. Automatic control of the switching network is achieved in this way. <IMAGE>
