341,272. Digester covers. HAINLEN, A., 79, Bahnhofstrasse, Steige, Geislingen, Germany. Jan. 20, 1930, No. 1974. [Class 123 (i).] A steam cooking pot 1 is provided with a cover 3 having a channel 4 containing packing 6. Three saddle members 7 are carried by a part 10 attached to the cover, so that they are permitted to slide horizontally to engage or disengage a flange 2 as shown on the left and right of the figure respectively. Transverse pins 11 are provided to retain the saddle members, but these may be withdrawn by rotating through 90‹, when the pins 11 may pass through vertical slots in the wall of the part 10. The cover is tightened on the pot by means of screws 8. In a modification, Fig. 5, each saddle member 13 is carried by a lug 12 projecting from the cover, the dimensions of the opening being such that it is possible to withdraw the saddle member. In another modification, Fig. 7, the saddle member 16 is released from the flange 2 by rotation in the lug 15. In another modification, Fig. 9, the saddle members 17 are all carried by a separate ring 18, and notches are provided in the flange 2 through which the saddle members are passed when applying the cover, which is afterwards rotated before tightening the screws 8.
|
