PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of flat finish of a slider plane by forming the 2nd insulation layer the same material as a wear resistance insulating layer, protection film, magnetic pole layer and a thin coin in between, on a base provided with the wear resistance insulation layer. CONSTITUTION:The wear resistance nonmagnetic insulation layer 22 is coated thick on the base block 21, the nonmagnetic insulation layer 24 made of the same material as that of the layer 22 and a lower magnetic pole layer 25 are formed on one face of the base 23 formed by slicing, and then a nonmagnetic insulation layer 27 including a gap forming layer 26, a thin film coil 28, an insulation layer 29 and an upper magnetic pole layer 30 and then finally the wear resistance protection film 31 made of the same material as the layer 22 are formed on the layer 25. Then exposed faces of each layer are polished and the slider face 32 is finished. Since the insulation layers 22, 24 and the protection film 31 are formed by the same material, no ditch due to polishment caused by the difference in the hardness of the type of materials and polish speed is produced and the slider face 32 is processed with high accuracy. |
