PURPOSE:To inspect the cap tightening torque in line during the operation of a cap tightening machine by cutting a part of a large-diameter gear for revolving or spinning a cap holder to form a split gear, which is provided with a load cell. CONSTITUTION:A large-diameter gear 20 is provided on the circumference of a stud 1 and a part thereof is cut to form a split gear 21. With the rotation of the gears 20 and 21, a pinion 3 on holder shaft 4 is revolved and spinned. A torque limiter 5 and a cap holder 6 are mounted at the lower end of the holder shaft 4. The large-diameter gear 20 is also provided with a push bar 24 while the split gear 21 with a stopper 22 and a load cell 23. Then, with the revolving or spinning of the cap holder 6, a cap is tightened on a bottle (a) through the torque limiter 5 and as the tightening torque comes to increase constantly, the rotary torque of the pinion 3 shifts to the split gear 21 from the large-diameter gear 20. The push bar 24 presses the stopper 22 by a torque and the torque is detected with the load cell 23. Therefore, the arrangement of the split gear enables the detection of the cap tightening torque during the operation. |
