PURPOSE:To perform development in plural colors easily and selectively regardless of simple constitution by rotating and displacing a magnetic roll so that a magnetic pole faces a doctor. CONSTITUTION:When the operation of the side of the 1st developing unit 52 is specified with a color specifying button, a reversible motor 87 rotates forward to rotate the sleeve 65 of the 1st developing roll 50 clockwise, forming a developer magnetic brush 56 on the surface of a sleeve 65. When an electrostatic latent image is developed completely, the 1st magnetic roll 64 is rotated and displaced by about 5 deg. to put the 1st magnetic pole 66a opposite the doctor 58, the formation of a new developer magnetic brush 56 on the sleeve 65 is stopped, and the sleeve 65 is further rotated by a specific extent to remove the developer magnetic brush 56. Consequently, the development is performed in plural colors easily and selectively although the constitution is simple. |
