PURPOSE:To produce a roll stand for a rolling mill consisting of a material which prevents cracking by depositing a metal having excellent material quality build-up welding to the surface of the inside corner part of the roll stand as well as rolling-down and rolling-up nut housing parts of the rolls of a rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:The inside corner part of the roll stand of the rolling mill as well as the rolling-down and rolling-up nut housing parts of the rolls made of a material or weld metal and heat affected zone having low toughness, ductility and resistance to fatigue are subjected to surface build-up welding by using a welding material which yields the weld metal having the roughness and ductility higher than the toughness and ductility of said materials and having the tensile strength higher than the tensile strength of said materials. The roll stand for the rolling mill which prevents cracking to be generated during use is thus obtd. The above-mentioned build-up welding is executed preferably to about >=10mm. thickness and there is a need for preventing welding defects by executing stress relief annealing after build-up welding. |
