PURPOSE:To obtain a polymer film having excellent conductivity, by coating an electrode plate with a polymer film containing a removable substance, followed by the electrolytic oxidative polymerization of an aromatic compound on the film after removing the removable substrate. CONSTITUTION:An electrode plate is coated with a polymer film containing a removable substance (e.g. CBr4) and, after removing the removable substance by heating, reduced pressure treatment, solvent treatment, etc., is dipped, together with the counter electrode, in an electrolyte solutio containing an aromatic compound (e.g. pyrrole). The aromatic compound undergoes electrolytic oxidative polymerization by the application of a voltage of both electrodes to give an aromatic polymer, which is dispersed in the polymer film. Then the film is separated from the electrode plate to give an objective conductive polymer film. As the removable substance, a substance soluble in the electrolyte solution may also be used, which is removed by dissolution during the electrolysis.
