PURPOSE:To provide the titled remedy containing 2-substituted-3-hydroxy-4,5,6,7- tetrahydro-2H-indazole as an active component, having diuretic activity, salt secretion activity and hypotensive activity, and exhibiting no side effects even by the application for a long period. CONSTITUTION:A remedy for hypertension can be prepared by using the compound of formula I (Q is straight or branched-chain lower alkylene, or straight or branched-chain lower alkyleneoxy) (which may be the tautomer of formula IIand formula III or their mixture) as an active component. The compound of formula is e.g. 3-hydroxy-2-[ 1-( 1-phenyl )ethyl ]-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-2H-indazole. Dose: 1-200mg daily, especially 40-100mg daily in the form of tablet, capsule, powder, granule, syrup, etc.
