PURPOSE:To enable a record-holding medium to be reused and make portable the recorded record-holding medium, by using a record-holding medium comprising a base layer, a conductive layer, an electrolytic color forming layer and a light-transmitting conductive layer laminated sequentially. CONSTITUTION:With a positive potential impressed on a writing electrode 17, an electric current flows from the electrode 17 to the conductive layer 15 through the light-transmitting conductive layer 11, whereby an indium oxide layer 13 is oxi- dized to form a color. The color thus formed remains after the electrode 17 is removed, resulting in a record. Then, with a negative potential impressed on the electrode 17,the indium oxide layer 13 is reduced, whereby the color is removed, and the medium can be reused. Accordingly, the recorded record-holding medium can be carried. |
