PRODUCTION OF ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE BODY

PURPOSE:To form an electric charge generating layer by forming a thin layer of an org. photoconductive material from a soln. and subjecting the same to vacuum deposition thereby preventing the scattering and decomposing of a powder sample and depositing the org. photoconductive material by evaporation with easy control. CONSTITUTION:A dye or pigment to be used as the org. photoconductive material is dissolved in a solvent and the soln. is poured into a boat-shaped vessel for a vapor deposition source. a film-like vapor deposition source 5 having a required thickness is formed when the solvent is evaporated. The source 5 sublimates easily without scattering and decomposing unlike a powder pigment in the stage of vapor deposition. The scattering and decomposing of the powder sample are therefore prevented ad the vapor deposition is executed with the easy control, by which the charge layer of an electrophotographic sensitive body is manufactured.
