CONTROL DEVICE FOR BILLET DRAWING EQUIPMENT IN CONTINUOUS CASTING INSTALLATION

PURPOSE:To share uniformly the load of each driving machine and to make control with high precision by selecting plural values of the detected drawing speed values of driving rolls for drawing a continuous casting billet in descending order, comparing the average value removed with the max. value or the min. value with a command value and controlling the speed. CONSTITUTION:The billet 4 past a mold 3 is drawn by the driving rolls disposed at a suitable spacing from non-driving rolls. Several values are selected in descending order from the detected speed values TG of the driving rolls and the average value removed with the max. value of the detected values or the min. value among said values is determined as the detected casting speed value Ni by a changeover controller 14. The difference thereof from the command value Ns is passed to a common speed controller 17' which commands torque to a torque controller 6 for each driving roll thereby controlling the speed over the entire part of the group. The control is made possible in a way as to avoid change in the load share of each driving motor and the operation with high accuracy is made possible.
