PURPOSE:To form always a proper welding bead by measuring the height of welding bead formed in a gap between a pair of works and by regulating the feeding of filler wire by the difference of the measured value and reference value. CONSTITUTION:An electron beam 2 is irradiated on the gap G between works 1a and 1b and also a pair of a feeding roller 5, 6 is turned with a driving motor 7 and a welding is performed by feeding a filler wire 3 into the gap G at the prescribed speed. The reinforcement condition of weld of a welding bead 4 of immediately after starting the welding for the gap G between both works 1a and 1b is measured by a measuring instrument 9 of a noncontacting optical displacement gage, etc. and the data is processed and outputted to a central processing unit 10. The unit 10 compares the measured value with the reference value and increases or decreases the speed of a driving motor 7 according to the difference and adjusts the feeding speed of the filler wire 3. |
