PURPOSE:To obtain the titled magnet having necessary coercive force and saving Sm at a reduced cost by adding a small amount of a group IVb element to a specified rare earth element-Co magnet contg. misch metal composed of light rare earth elements. CONSTITUTION:This 2-17 type rare earth element-Co magnet has a composition represented by a formula MM(TM1-x+Ax)z (where MM is misch metal composed of light rare earth elements, TM is Co-base transition metals, A is one or more among C, Si, Ge, Sn and Pb, Z is the atomic ratio of TM+A to the rare earth elements, and X<=0.15). The rare earth element-Co magnet having practical iHc and about 20MGOe energy product and saving Sm is obtd. at a reduced cost. |
