PURPOSE:To shorten the tool changing time required for a machine tool as well as to aim at a speed-up of tool change attendant upon high-speed promotion in a numerical control system, by using a two-axis parallel cam, while making forward or backward motion and rotary motion both in time of tool changing operatable with one driving source alone. CONSTITUTION:When a driving motor 12 is driven for rotation, turrets 16 and 17 are rotated by a parallel cam 15, and a rotary shaft 10 having tightly installed a changer 7 for tool holder changing goes forward up to ranges a4 and a5 whereby jaws 23 and 24 are engaged with each other, while a pin 25 comes into a state of being slipped out of the changer 7 and becomes rotatable in a b3 direction. When the parallel cam 15 further continues to rotate, the rotary shaft 10 and the changer 7 both perform their retractable motion in a range of the said a2 and a3, while they rotate in a b2 direction, thus changing operations of a tool holder take place. Thus, since forward-backward motion for pulling out the tool holder and rotary motion for holder replacement are carried out with one driving source alone, a structure and a control circuit are well simplified and, what is more, a succession of motions is performed so smoothly, thus operating time is sharply reducible. |
