Previously unknown β-adrenergic blocking agents, which can be used for treating or preventing cardiovascular disorders and for treating glaucoma, have the formula I <IMAGE> in which n is an integer from 0 to 10, R is C6-C12- cycloalkyl-CpH2p-, C6-C18-polycycloalkyl-CpH2p-, C6-C18- polycycloalkenyl-CpH2p- or C6-C12-cycloalkenyl-CpH2p- (in which p is 0, 1 2 or 3, or, together with the group <IMAGE> in the neighbouring position, denotes a number of other complex ester groups, R1 is C1- C7-alkyl, and Ar is a divalent group containing at least one aromatic nucleus, or are pharmaceutically acceptable acid additions salts of these compounds.
