PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a drug by a relative simple reaction operation easily in high yield, by using 1,2-bis(2-oxo-3-benzothiazolynyl) ethanone of a novel compound as a raw material, reacting it with an amine. CONSTITUTION:A 2-benzothiazolinone shown by the formula I is condensed with a monohalogenoacetyl halide to give a 1,2-bis(2-oxo-3-benzothiazolynyl)ethanone shown by the formula II (R1 is H, halogen, alkyl, trihalomethyl, or alkoxy) of a novel compound, which is reacted with an amine shown by the formula III(R2 and R3 are H, alkyl, aryl or halogen, aryl replaced with OH, etc.) in a solvent to give a 2-benzothiazolinone-3-fatty acid amide derivative shown by the formula IV having analgesic action, anti-inflammatory action, etc. 2-Benzothiazolinones prepared as a by-products are easily recovered, and reused as a raw material for synthesizing the starting raw material shown by the formula II.
