NON-A, NON-B HEPATITIS-ASSOCIATED ANTIGEN, A CONJUGATE THEROF AND DIAGNOSTIC REAGENT CONTAINING SAME

A type non-A, non-B hepatitis-associated antigen is obtained by isolation and purification from non-A, non-B hepatitis autopsy liver and has the following physicochemical properties: molecular weight: 1,500,000 or more (gel filtration) sedimentation constant (10<-><1><3>): 51.5S (ultracentrifugal analysis) buoyant density (g/cm<3>): 1.15 - 1.25 (in cesium chloride and in potassium bromide) particle diameter (nm): 26 - 37 electrophoretic mobility: alpha 2 - alpha 1 globulin region (in agarose gel). A type non-A, non-B hepatitis diagnostic reagent contains, as its principal ingredient, a conjugate of the above-described antigen.
