摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the defect of early capacity deterioration without increasing the weight of the plate by packing a paste with a low utilization rate until the grid is completely packed with the paste and packing a paste with a relatively high utilization rate over the grid. CONSTITUTION:A paste 2 with a low utilization rate is packed into a base body 1 up to its thickness. Then a paste 4 with a high utilization rate is packed over the base body 1 up to the thickness 5 of the plate. The utilization rate of the paste is controlled by varying the moisture content of the paste and varying the porosity of the active material. For example, after a paste 2 with 11% moisture content is packed into the base body 1 consisting of a calcium-system alloy up to the thickness 3 of the base body 1, a paste 4 with 17% moisture content is applied up to the thickness 5 of the plate to make a positive plate 6. By the means mentioned above, any early capacity deterioration of a lead storage bettery containing a base body consisting of a calcium-system lead alloy, can be prevented without increasing the weight of the plate.
