PURPOSE:A separating agent effective for separating various compounds, extremely effective for separation of optical isomers which have not separated easily, comprising an aromatic ester derivative of a polysaccharide except cellulose as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A separating agent comprising an aromatic ester derivative of optically active polysaccharide (except cellulose) such as amylose, beta-1,4-chitosan, chitin, beta-1,4-mannan, beta-1,4-xylan, inulin, etc. (86-100% OH of the polysaccharide on the average is linked to aromatic carboxylic acid to form ester) as an active ingredient. The separating agent is preferably used in chromatography. |
