PURPOSE:To achieve high voltage and flat discharge performance of a flat nonaqueous electrolyte battery by preventing any separation of the negative active material consisting of an alkali metal from the negative terminal plate which might occur when the battery is curved by forming cuts on the negative active material. CONSTITUTION:A negative active material 1 is prepared from a lithium plate which has cuts 3 located at 3mm. intervals and having a depth half the plate thickness. A positive mixture 4 is prepared by molding a mixture of (ex.) manganese dioxide and graphite. A positive terminal plate 5 is prepared from a stainless steel. A separator 6 is prepared from a nonwoven polypropylene fabric. The cuts of the lithium plate are formed using a bladed pressing mold at the same time when the lithium plate is pressed and fixed to a negative terminal plate 2. Because of the above structure, even when the battery is curved, the lithium plate is not separated and the battery exhibits a smooth discharge voltge. Accordingly, increased reliability of the battery can be achieved. |
