PRODUCTION OF SLEEVE FOR CONNECTING OPTICAL FIBER CABLE

PURPOSE:To manufacture a lightweight and secure product by screwing together two pieces of half bodies each formed by notching the four corners of a rectangular steel sheet, drawing the central part to a U shape and both ends to a semicircular shape by means of dies and subjecting the ends to return flanging. CONSTITUTION:The four corners (b) of the rectangular steel sheet (a) is notched and thereafter the steel sheet is put into dies and the central part 1 thereof is drawn to the U shape and both ends 2 are drawn to the semicircular shape. The ends are then folded and returned to form folded parts 3(3a-3c). Screw holes penetrating to 3a, 3b are provided at suitable intervals. Two pieces of the half bodies made into the similar construction are fastened together by means of screws and nuts via a gasket. A recess for insertion of the gasket is preliminarily provided to the one half body 3a. The lightweight and secure sleeve is thus manufactured.
