<p>PURPOSE:To recover economically SO2 from the gas coexisting with CO2 in high purity by performing the desulfurization with an aq. alkali sulfite soln. and allowing acid alkali sulfite to react with magnesium bicarbonate which has been produced by utilizing CO2 coexisting in the gas. CONSTITUTION:The gas contg. CO2 and SO2 is introduced into a desulfurizing reaction zone B of the lower part of a reaction tower T packed with the spheri cal hollow bodies from an introduction port 3 and allowed to react with an aq.Na2SO3 soln. to produce NaHSO3. Thereafter the gas contg. CO2 is sent to a bicarbonating reaction zone A through a gas riser 14 and allowed to react with the Mg-compd. slurry such as MgO fed through the lines 20, 21 to produce Mg(HCO3)2. One part of an aq. NaHSO3 soln. circulated from the tower bottom and Mg(HCO3)2 are sent to a reactor R and the mixture is converted to Na2SO3 having the desulfirization activity and hard-soluble MgSO3. The ppt. of MgSO3 is separated by a separator S2 and an aq. Na2SO3 soln. is introduced into the desulfurization reaction zone B of the tower T via a vessel V3.</p> |
