<p>The cassette frame has a rear or bottom plate (4) and a top or front plate (3). Between them is located a film compression plate (6) resiliently abutting the rear plate with the cassette closed. It lifts from this position with the cassette open. One end of the frame has a slit for loading and unloading of the film. The compression plate has along each side edge a lifting strip (7), while on each side of the frame are provided two sliding rods (5), movable to different positions corresponding to the cassette open and closed state. To each rod is associated a round component (8), resting on an end of an angular part (9) in one rod position. A roll, a ball or a wheel is used for this purpose. The round part cooperates with the lifting strip in such manner that the roll etc. is moved from a first into a second position along the angular part during sliding movement of the rods. A portion of the angular part, which is flat at the beginning and supports the roll etc., is swung upwards. Thus the strip on the compression plate is lifted together with a light screen which prevents light penetration between the bottom and the compression plates when the cassette is closed. The X-ray film cassette is intended for use with a film loading device and for unloading directly in a film processor after exposure.</p> |
