PURPOSE:To use a plate spring, and also to constitute its holding part at a small space by constituting the plate spring holding part of a recessed part provided on the inside wall surface, and a groove part provided on the upper and the lower wall surfaces of the recessed part. CONSTITUTION:A tape cassette with a cover is constituted of a cassette main frame 1, a cassette upper half 2, a cassette lower half 3, and a cover 4. A fitting hole 7 of a turning supporting shaft 6 of the cover 4 provided on a cover side part 5 consists of a triangular shape which becomes tapering toward the rear, a plate spring 9 is held by an inside wall 8, and its free end energizes the turning supporting shaft 6 toward the rear. In the cassette lower half 3, the plate spring 9 is held by a recessed part 10, and a groove part 11 is provided on the lower half 3 by extending the recessed part 10. In this way, as for the plate spring, its movement in the right and left directions is obstructed by the recessed part of its holding part, and the movement in the forward and backward directions, and the movement in the upper and lower directions are obstructed by the groove part and the upper and the lower halves, respectively, therefore, the cassette space can be utilized very effectively.
