PURPOSE:To provide an absorbing and holding device for moisture content in oil which absorbs and holds water mixed in oil by the use of high-moisture absorbing resin. CONSTITUTION:An absorbing and holding tool 1 for a moisture content in oil is formed such that high-absorbancy resin powder is sealed in a bag 2 formed by paper, cloth which is insoluble in water and penetrates at least water. The high-absorbency resin is a well-known material used in physiological goods, paper diapers, and a material is classified into 3 systems of a starch system, a cellulose system, and a synthetic polymer system. All of the systems are prepared such that a part of the molecules of water soluble resin in all the systems is cross-linked to cause them to have 2 characteristics of both hydrophilic nature and an osmotic pressure which sucks water. The moisture content absorbing and holding tool is charged in an oil tank, such as the combustion tank of a petroleum burner, cartridge tanks, for mounting thereto, and this enables the use of the tool which serves to absorb and remove a moisture content mixed in oil.
