<p>Antibiotics Bu-2313A (I, R=Me) and Bu-2313B (I,R=H) and their mixts. and salts are new: A mixt. of cpds. (I) is obtained by culturing Micropolyspora caesia ATCC 31295-8 (pref. 31298) under submerse aerobic conditions in an aq. medium contg. assimilable C and N sources, pref. at pH 5.0-10.0 (esp. 6.0-8.0) and 20-48 degrees C (esp. 32-42 degrees C) in the presence of glycine. (I, R=H) can be isolated from the mixt. by chromatography on a macroreticular polymer resin. (I, R = Me) can be isolated from the residue by chromatography on silica gel. Cpds. (I) have a similar antibacterial activity spectrum to tirandamycin, with high activity against Bacillus, Streptococcus, Diplococcus, Neisseria and Hemophilus spp. and anaerobic bacteria.</p> |
