A clamp includes a flexible member (1) which can be wrapped around a cable and secured by end-fittings (4, 5) integral with, or permanently attached to, the flexible member and shaped to provide a pair of faying surfaces (one on each end-fitting). These engage one another when the clamp is wrapped around a cable or pipe. To accommodate a range of circumferences the relative positions of the faying surfaces differ by displacement in the plane normal to the cable axis in dependence upon the magnitude of the circumference within that range.
