<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having satisfactory durability by forming the film of the mixture of a polar perfluoroalkyl polyether (PFPE) lubricant with a nonpolar PFPE lubricant on a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The lubricating film of a mixed lubricant consisting of polar PFPE and nonpolar PFPE is formed on the magnetic layer. Since the lubricating film consists of the protective layer of polar PFPE adhering firmly to the magnetic layer and the low friction layer of nonpolar PFPE undergoing easily shear on the protective layer, significant protective action is produced, and a magnetic recording medium having high wear resistance is obtd. The preferred lubricating film can be formed by using PFPE having 1,000-20,000mol.wt.</p> |
