PURPOSE:To provide the titled binder having excellent adhesivity, water-resistance, acid resistance, etc., and containing an aqueous dispersion of a copolymer prepared by the emulsion copolymerization of a silane compound, a polymerizable unsaturated carboxylic acid, an acrylic acid ester, etc., as essential component. CONSTITUTION:A monomer mixture containing (A) 0.1-40wt% silane compound having hydrolyzable group bonded directly to silicon atom and free of polymerizable unsaturated group (e.g. aminomethyltriethoxysilane), (B) 1-30wt% polymerizable unsaturated carboxylic acid (e.g. acrylic acid) and (C) 50-98.9wt% (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester, as essential components, is prepared beforehand. The monomer mixture is subjected to the emulsion polymerization in an aqueous medium, and the obtained aqueous dispersion of copolymer (100pts.wt. in terms of nonvolatile component) is mixed with 0-200pts.wt. (in terms of SiO2-containing component) of water-based colloidal silica and 0-40pts. of a silane compound having hydrolyzable group to obtain the titled binder. |
