<p>PURPOSE:To easily grasp the layout of documents and, at the same time, to make a word processor more compact, by providing a means which outputs the layout of documents to a printing device or display device. CONSTITUTION:The master microcomputer 111 of the control section 11 of a printer converts printing character data from a main control section into character pattern data for printing text by means of a text ROM115 at the time of text printing mode. Moreover, the microcomputer converts the printing character data into pattern data by means of a layout ROM116 at the time of layout printing mode. Then the microcomputer controls a thermal head 41 through an I/O114 and driving circuit 126 in accordance with the pattern data so as to print necessary character or layout patterns.</p> |
