PURPOSE:To aim at the promotion of shortening the overall length of a brake booster, by projecting an output shaft to an outer part of the brake pedal side from a rear shell, while letting the projecting part of the output shaft interlock with a piston of a master cylinder at the outer part of the shell. CONSTITUTION:The promotion of lightweightiness in a brake booster is promoted if it will do that a housing 34 of a master cylinder 29 is pierced through a front shell 1a and a rear shell 1b either, then the housing 34 is attached to a car body 35, and a shell 1 merely has rigidity resistable to fluid pressure. Likewise, the master cylinder 29 is substantially made to overlap with the shell 1, a power piston 2, a valve body 3 and a valve mechanism 7 whereby the promotion of shortening the overall length is promoted. In addition, an output shaft 23 is projected to an outer part of the side of a pedal 22 from the rear shell 1b, and since this output shaft 23 is made to interlock with a piston 30 of the master cylinder 29 at an outer part of the shell 1, space for an interlocking mechanism is made possible to be set up at the side of a driver seat. |
