PURPOSE:To absorb the difference between registration information and inquiry information by making the recognition and correction of connective relation information of a sentence possible with respect to a name register of a registered object and a retrieving person for inputting inquiries of a retrieved object. CONSTITUTION:When an inquiry sentence 1 is given, it is inputted to a sentence input device 2 and transmitted to a sentence analyzer 3 having a dictionary 11 in order to find independent and auxiliary words in the sentence and divide it into paragraphs. Then its result 12 is outputted. A connective relation analyzer 4 analyzes the connective relation in such a method that it finds the connective relation (modification relation) to paragraphs before and behind from the previous paragraph in accordance with an output format 12, and gives the information to a connective relation display device 5. The analyzed result of the connective relation is displayed on a display screen 13a. If an inputter of names finds erroneous modifications, they are corrected by a connective relation correcting device 6. An inquiry processor 7 retrieves a data base 10 by using an internal structure expression 15 obtained by the correction as an input. Due to the collation with the internal structure expression the difference between expressions can be asborbed.
