PURPOSE:To obtain a fibrous phase-transfer catalyst having high catalytic activity and high mechanical strength, capable of being formed into an arbitrary shape and easy to handle, by constituting the same from an insoluble polymonovinyl aromatic compound and a reinforcing polymer. CONSTITUTION:The titled catalyst consists of an insoluble polymonovinyl aromatic compound having a group or structural unit having phase-transfer catalytic capacity such as tributylammonium group, a trioctylphosphonium group or crown ether structural unit introduced into the side chain thereof and a reinforcing polymer having fiber forming capacity such as polypropylene or polyethylene and spun into, for example, a multi-core composite fibrous form.
