PURPOSE:To allow accelerating operation and suppressing operation for a running image carrier to cancel each other and stabilize the run of the image carrier by accelerating and suppressing the run of the image carrier simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning blade 3 is fitted to the housing 2a of the cleaning device 2 to remove residual toner on the surface of a photosensitive body 1 shown by a chain line. Two elastic cleaning rollers 4a and 4b are arranged in a press-contact sliding and rubbing state at the upstream side of the cleaning blade 3 in the running direction of the photosensitive body; the roller 4a runs in the same direction with the photosensitive body where it contacts the photosensitive body 1 and the roller 4b turns in the opposite direction. Consequently, the cleaning roller 4b suppresses the rotation of the photosensitive body 1, so the cleaning roller 4a is rotated speedily so as to accelerate the rotation of the photosensitive body, so that evil influence upon the rotation of the photosensitive body is eliminated as much as possible through the mutual operation between both rollers 4a and 4b. |
