PURPOSE:To perform beautiful finish classified by color with good efficiency without requiring technique and experience, by using a paint, which is formed in to a continuous film and can be easily released after drying and/or curing, as a masking material. CONSTITUTION:In applying painting classfied by two colors to the surface of a helmet, a desired color paint 1 is at first applied to the whole of the helmet and an easily releasable paint 4 is continuously applied over a second region 3 appropriately larger than a first region 2 to be masked in an appropriate thickness by an appropriate method such as a spray or brush coating method while the painted helmet is dried and/or cured by natural or forcible drying and, thereafter, a slit is provided on the contour line 2 of the first region 2 through a jig to release the releasable film 4 of the second region 3 protruded from the first region 2. Next, a second paint 5 is applied to the surface of the helmet before the masking film 4 in the second region 2 is released.
