<p>PURPOSE:To detect correctly and efficiently even independent words which are expressed with mixture of Kana (Japanese syllabary) characters and characters other than Kana characters, by starting collation from the last character other than Kana character of an independent word including characters other than Kana characters in its expression. CONSTITUTION:A collation start position setting circuit 271 is started to set a collation start position 221 of a remainder character string of a given character string 220 where Kanji (Chinese character) and Kana are mixed. Next, a principal expression retrieving circuit 272 is started to retrieve an independent word, whose principal expression part 411 in an independent word dictionary 4 of characters other than Kana characters coincides with a partial character string 222 preceding the collation start position 221 of said given character string 220, from the independent word dictionary 4. Further, a remainder expression part collating circuit 273 is started to collate a partial character string 223 succeeding the collation start position 221 with remainder expression parts 412 of individual independent words retrieved by the principal expression part retrieving circuit 272.</p> |
