PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of image quality and the reduction of the paper feeding frictional force by covering a rotatable roller and the surface at least either of a close-contact sensor for reading or a paper feeding roller having a traveling paper sheet therebetween, by a thin tubular flexible covering member. CONSTITUTION:A roller 1 in pair with a close-contact sensor 3 has a rubber layer 1b around a metal roller part 1a, and the peripheral surface of the rubber layer 1b is covered with a thin tubular flexible covering member 6, which consists of a skin made of Teflon, silicone, etc. The skin 6 part contacts with the close-contact sensor 3 through paper 2, and the paper 2 is fed by the frictional force generated between the skin 6 and the paper 2. Therefore, when the lead powder of a pencil, the ink of a ball-point pen, or the tar of tobacco adheres onto the surface of the roller and solidified and the roller can not maintain the function, always new roller can be supplied by only properly replacing the skin 6, and maintenance cost can be reduced. |
